For the first time in history, an AI agent has a real ID
What if every AI agent had a verifiable digital identity and a human accountable for its actions?
Today, we are taking a step in that direction with ORYKSA.
We have just launched our AI agent identification system, an infrastructure that enables every agent to have a unique digital identity, verify its authenticity, and establish a connection with the human or organization responsible for it.
Our proposal is inspired by European digital identity principles, including security, privacy, interoperability, and data control. But we want to take this discussion into new territory: the identity of autonomous AI agents.
Our thesis is simple: if an AI agent can act on someone's behalf, we need to know who it is, who controls it, and who is accountable for its actions.
Imagine a future where every agent has its own identifier, associated with a public and private cryptographic key pair. This would allow its identity to be verified, its interactions to be authenticated, and its actions to be recorded in a traceable way.
Behind every agent, there would be a verifiable link to its human or institutional operator. The agent could perform tasks autonomously, within the permissions granted to it, while responsibility for its deployment, configuration, and supervision would remain with humans, in accordance with applicable rules.
This is not just a technological question. It is a question of trust, governance, and accountability.
And this is where our proposal to the community begins.
We believe AI agent identification should not be limited to a single company or platform. We need to start discussing an open, interoperable protocol with a legal foundation capable of crossing borders.
A protocol that allows agents from different companies to recognize one another, verify their credentials, and operate in shared environments while respecting human rights, privacy, and the accountability of their operators.
ORYKSA is starting with its own infrastructure. We are assigning verifiable identities to our agents, and we invite developers, companies, researchers, and legal and digital security experts to join this discussion.
We are not announcing the creation of universal legislation, nor claiming that a consensus already exists on how such a system should work. We are presenting a thesis and opening an invitation to build, together, a technical and legal proposal that could evolve into a shared standard.
We believe the future of autonomous agents must begin with a verifiable identity and clearly defined accountability.
This is our first step. And we would like it not to be the last.
